My GPS gave me quite the run-around for this senior session! We met up at the Yarmouth Town Landing however my GPS decided to take me to some random back dirt road that I’m pretty sure lead to one what would have been the beginning of a bad horror movie. Once I got all turned around and in the right place I discovered that the Yarmouth Town Landing is a fabulous place to photograph!

Mandi & Nick get hitched! | Maine Wedding Photographer

Mandi and Nick both have a love for the sea and when deciding on where to have their wedding there was no question it would be Fort Williams State Park in Cape Elizabeth. Nick is a classic kinda guy, he has a love for the forts and lighthouses. While Mandi is an artistic girl, with her love of creative shots and her DIY spirit. Every little detail of this wedding was handled by Mandi and Nick. She even GREW her own bouquet! Which I need to take some gardening tips from her – I can’t keep plastic plants alive. After the ceremony at the park we strolled around and used the grandstands for portraits and then hit up the pond in the back (which I didn’t even know was there) and then the path down by the lighthouse to recreate some of the shots from their engagement session. On our way out of the park to head to the reception at Keeley the Caterer in Portland we held up a little traffic so we could snag some great shots of them by the fort on the road out of the park.

Reiche family at the beach | Maine Family Photographer

Lets just say I have totally been slacking on the blog posts – I’m so sorry (mom. you’re my only reader. hahhaha)
Here’s the Reiche family with their two absolutely adorable children. I’m a big surfer up here in the frigid waters of Maine and the day of their session was THE biggest surf day all summer. The kind when you’re 1/2 mile from the beach you KNOW it’s going off. Well we had originally scheduled their session to take place at Higgins Beach. Driving to the beach I knew it was going to be difficult to find parking but it was insane! A few quick phone calls and we relocated to a beach down the street which was surprising empty and the water was surprisingly flat – which is always good for family sessions. The last thing I need is someone getting a little too excited about the water and then ending up drenched by a wave before the session has even started.

Andrea and Shawn are a couple after my own heart! Always goofing off and having a good time – they were so much fun to photograph. Our trip around Portland’s Old Port was highlighted by a crazy cat lady. While we were outside the Port Hole there was a woman who was down on the ground making high pitched mewing noises at the wharf kitties there trying to befriend them. It was one of those moments when you all just have to stop what you’re doing and stare. We had such a good time! I can’t wait until their October wedding!

Victoria – Class of 2012 | Maine Senior Portrait Photographer

I met up with Victoria at a completely new location to me, a cemetery near outer Forest in Portland. That was a great location – who knew there were so many neat locations towards the back of the cemetery. We had a few duck ponds with a few 100 ducks! Some great sunlight coming over a larger pond in the back and some really interesting trees. From there we headed over to Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, however our session was just a few days before Hurricane Irene hit so we had to call it a day due to heavy winds. Thankfully the week after the storm was much more calm and we were able to get the session in sans the crazy wind-swept look.

My senior reps this year are really sending in the referrals and my goodness are they gorgeous girls! I’ve tried to block high school out of my mind but from what I remember the pretty girls were never nice but each and every senior I’ve photographed this year has been an absolute sweetheart.
Here’s Paulina! I met up with her, her mom and her younger sister at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth. Thanks to the Murray family I’ve rediscovered this gem just on the outskirts of Portland. With Paulina we ventured a little farther into the woods and played with some amazing light coming through the trees.
